If the Security Options button is not available, Disk Utility cannot perform a secure erase on the storage device. File Size Matters FAT32 file size support tops out at 4GB and volume size tops out at 2TB. In the sidebar, select the disk you want to format to use with Windows computers. Secure erase options are available only for some types of storage devices. Look for NTFS-3G driver support on your Linux support page to see if its built in. In the Disk Utility app on your Mac, choose View > Show All Devices.
